We can tailor affordable workshops to suit your needs, offering an artist to work with your group on short one off workshops or extensive arts projects run over a period of time in community centres, youth groups, schools and nurseries. It’s not too late to participate! Just don’t miss the deadline for entries to the Play Resource ‘Our World’ Art Competition. If you have not yet started your group artwork piece get busy and deliver them to us by 5pm on Wednesday 31st March. Simply download the information flyer and entry form. Neil Shawcross will be judging the entries and awarding the prizes at the Exhibition Launch event on 29 April.

Perhaps most exciting of all is the increased Ideas & Inspiration library available online to search and download for free, so add it to your ‘favourite’s today.
Don’t miss the two new contrasting exhibitions in the Ideas Gallery upstairs at Play Resource as another source of Ideas & Inspiration for arts projects. Journey back through time with our Ancient Civilizations inspired display, created by staff on a recent materials training day and you will see Mayan, Egyptian, Celtic, Roman, Native American and Aboriginal influences!! Or simply pause to take in the beautiful Going Slow photography exhibition by artist Jim Russell. It explores the beauty and diversity of the natural world around us encouraging everyone to do the same and seek out the mini jungles on our doorstep that provide a wealth of inspiration for arts projects!

‘Muck and Magic: alternative materials and their use in art education’ by Wicklow-based artist Roisin Markham, continues the Practice.ie Online Talk Series. During the live online talk on Thursday 11th March from 4-5pm Roisin will talk about her child-centred approach to facilitating learning through plants, muck and recycled materials in the context of a school environment. The Grand Opera House puts out a call to local artists, writers, performers and groups for their proposals to take centre stage for the forthcoming Platform Performances
, to take place in Luciano’s Café Bar. The theatre wants to hear from anyone who’s interested in bringing their work to new audiences. The performance spots are open to local singers, musicians, playwrights, theatre companies, schools, colleges, literally anyone, who wants an opportunity to perform to a small audience. If you are interested in putting yourself or your group forward to perform, please send a CV, image and performance proposal to outreach@goh.co.uk.
